SUMMARY: The Barnett Reservoir is currently below its normal level for the spring-fall season by 4 inches, measuring at 297.12 feet above mean sea level. The reservoir is discharging 250 cubic feet per second downstream while receiving an inflow of 190 cubic feet from the Pearl River. Without rain in the forecast, water levels will remain low. Senior Service Hydrologist Marty Pope states that every half foot of water lost has an impact, affecting access to docks and boating opportunities. While water levels are still suitable for boating, caution is advised due to stumps in shallow areas of the river and reservoir.
