Extra Table launches new ready-to-serve meal for food insecure Mississippians

SUMMARY: Extra Table, a statewide food bank in Mississippi, has introduced a new meal solution called “Extra Full” to combat hunger. Launched in Jackson, this product is a pot meal with four servings, ready in under 30 minutes, requiring only boiling water. The initial offering is red beans and rice made with rice from Two Brooks Farm in the Mississippi Delta, fortified with a vitamin mix, high fiber and protein, low sodium, and containing 22 vitamins and minerals. Extra Full meals will be packed by volunteers and distributed to food pantries at no cost, alongside other food provided by Extra Table to its 62 partner organizations. The initiative was created in partnership with several entities, including universities and corporate sponsors.

Mississippi State parts ways with head baseball coach Chris Lemonis amid underwhelming campaign

Southern Miss, Ole Miss both stay put in D1Baseball Top 25

SUMMARY: No. 22 Southern Miss and No. 23 Ole Miss maintained their spots in the latest D1Baseball rankings. Southern Miss went 4-0, securing a road sweep of Appalachian State, highlighted by Nick Monistere’s walk-off home run. Their ace, JB Middleton, threw a complete game in a 10-2 win. Ole Miss bounced back with a series win over No. 9 Vanderbilt after beating Mississippi State in the Governor’s Cup. They won the first two games of the series, 8-3 and 7-1, before Vanderbilt salvaged the finale with a 13-0 win. Both teams continue their season with midweek games and upcoming conference matchups.
