Experts offer advice for chimney cleaning as cooler weather hits Oklahoma
SUMMARY: James, known as the Happy Hatter, highlights key chimney maintenance tips. He emphasizes the importance of regular cleaning, cautioning that one neglected chimney can create significant mess. He educates customers on operating gas systems safely to avoid accidents. With colder weather approaching, he advises homeowners to inspect their chimney caps for critters and ensure screens are in place. Recent house fires in the Oklahoma City area, linked to chimney debris, underscore the need for vigilance. Accumulated soot and creosote can ignite during a fire, posing dangers to homeowners and neighbors. A complete chimney cleaning typically takes about an hour.

Reaction to Walters' prayer video for OK students
SUMMARY: Oklahoma State Superintendent Ryan Walters faced backlash over a prayer video he wanted played in schools, expressing support for President Donald Trump and criticizing the “radical left” and teachers’ unions. While the video garnered thousands of views online, many school districts opted not to show it, citing concerns over indoctrination and emphasizing the importance of inclusivity in public education. Critics argue that the focus should be on improving educational outcomes rather than engaging in culture wars. The Attorney General’s office called Walters’ directive unenforceable, asserting it undermines local control and parental rights in education.
