Expensive designer watch stolen in west Houston

SUMMARY: Houston police are searching for a man who used sleight of hand to steal a watch worth tens of thousands of dollars from a West Houston jewelry store. The suspect visited the store looking for a watch for his father and presented a large stack of cash but was $500 short of the $22,000 price. After giving the clerk $500 to hold the watch, he tricked her into believing he would return. Surveillance footage shows him swiftly removing the watch and replacing the empty box before the clerk turned around. The store didn’t realize the watch was missing for several days.

Police need your help finding a man accused of stealing a designer watch from a store in west Houston.

SUMMARY: In September, Texas achieved record highs in employment, with 14,289,900 total nonfarm jobs and 14,819,800 people working, marking the largest labor force in state history at 15,449,900. Governor Greg Abbott emphasized Texas as a national model for job growth fueled by entrepreneurial spirit and training for high-demand jobs. The state added 29,200 nonfarm jobs and saw an annual growth rate of 2.3%, outpacing the national average. Key sectors contributing to job growth included Professional and Business Services and Private Education and Health Services. Texas’ unemployment rate was 4.1%, slightly higher than the national rate of 3.9%.
