Ex-Reservoir police officer charged with statutory rape out on bond
SUMMARY: Rodney Journigan, a 26-year-old former Reservoir police officer, was arrested and charged with the statutory rape of a 13-year-old. He appeared in Smith County court where he was given a $50,000 bond. Journigan resigned from his police position the previous day. Smith County Sheriff Joel Houston emphasized zero tolerance for such behavior, regardless of the offender’s background. Houston noted the negative impact this incident has on the law enforcement community. Multiple search warrants were executed on various electronic devices prior to the arrest. Journigan is under a no-contact order with the victim’s family following his release on bond.

Walmart carjacking suspect arrested in Corinth
SUMMARY: A 23-year-old man, Telin Loveless, is accused of carjacking at gunpoint outside a Walmart in Corinth. On Sunday, he allegedly threatened a victim in their vehicle, demanding they exit before driving away. The car was later found wrecked on Highway 365 in Tishomingo County. Mississippi Highway Patrol troopers located Loveless near the crash site. He is currently awaiting a bond hearing.
