Ex-cop arrested in connection to killing at Jackson apartment complex

He is accused of murdering Carlos Collins, a 25-year-old nurse from Yazoo City, at the Tapestry Apartments in Jackson. Collins was shot and struck with an ax. Johnson, who had a controversial past including previous arrests for theft, impersonation, and misconduct, resigned from the police department in 2013. The victim’s family confirmed that Johnson and Collins had once been in a relationship, and Collins had a restraining order against Johnson.
