Evidence links Gilgo Beach suspect with other victims: attorney
SUMMARY: New evidence has allegedly linked Gilgo Beach serial killer suspect Rex Heuermann to two additional women who were found dead on Long Island. Attorney John Ray, who represents victims in the case, announced that there will be a “major development” in the case. The evidence connects Heuermann to Shannan Gilbert and Karen Vergata, who were found dead in 2011 and 1996 respectively. Heuermann is already charged with murder in connection to the deaths of Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, Amber Costello, and is considered a “prime suspect” in the killing of Maureen Brainard-Barnes. Heuermann denies being the killer.
