Lawsuit challenges race requirements on Tennessee’s boards | Tennessee
SUMMARY: The Pacific Legal Foundation and Do No Harm are suing Tennessee over racial quotas for appointments to state boards and commissions, arguing they violate the 14th Amendment. The lawsuit targets the Board of Medical Examiners and Board of Chiropractic Examiners, claiming that requiring the governor to appoint members based on race undermines individual merit. The groups also challenge similar racial requirements for the Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners. The lawsuit highlights concerns about patient safety and the importance of appointing qualified individuals, regardless of race. Tennessee is one of 14 states that use race or sex in board appointments.

Blue-collar Titans fans getting priced out of seats at new Nissan Stadium | Tennessee
SUMMARY: Frank Stiner and his cousin were excited to expand their ticket holdings for the new $2.2 billion Nissan Stadium but faced shocking price increases, as their $750 PSLs skyrocketed to $10,000 each. After expressing concerns, they were dismissed by Titans representatives. Stiner noted that many loyal, blue-collar fans couldn’t afford such prices. The Titans plan to sell PSLs in over 30 tiers, with more than 40% priced below $3,500, but critics argue that true fans are being pushed out. Tennessee Rep. Larry Miller is working on a bill to limit PSL price increases, though it faced resistance from the Titans.
