Escaped Oktibbeha County inmate returned to Mississippi after capture in Memphis
SUMMARY: William Strohm, an inmate who had escaped from an Oktibbeha County jail in early December, was apprehended in Memphis on December 24. The U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force arrested him and coordinated with local deputies for his extradition back to Mississippi. He had managed to break out of jail by jumping over an air conditioning unit, scaling the roof, and leaping over the perimeter fence. Originally serving a one-year sentence for burglary with only a few months left, his escape leads to an expected extension of his sentence. Strohm’s initial court hearing after being returned was rescheduled to January 9.
