SUMMARY: East Mississippi Community College has been awarded a $1.5 million workforce grant from the U.S. Department of Labor, making it one of 16 colleges in the country to receive this funding. The Strengthening Community Colleges Training Grant aims to prepare students for good jobs and connect them with employers. EMCC is the only community college in the state to receive funding in this round, which will support three advanced manufacturing programs at the Communiversity and help recruit female and minority students to these programs. This grant will have a significant impact on workforce development and job placement in the region.
