Election preparations underway in Hinds County
SUMMARY: Hinds County leaders in Mississippi are preparing for a good voter turnout in the upcoming General Election. The county has experienced some issues in past elections, such as staff shortages and late voting machine arrivals, but they do not expect these issues to occur on election day. The Hinds County Election Commission has trained additional workers in case of any unexpected events. As of November 1, there have been 2,261 absentee ballots cast in the county. The Hinds County Circuit Clerk is working diligently to ensure the election runs smoothly, and is grateful for the additional poll workers.

In addition to the name change, the college will undergo academic realignments, including the merging of several schools. The football program will be discontinued, with a focus shifting to the remaining 17 sports and facility upgrades. All changes are expected to be completed by the bicentennial.
