East Hardy Street bridge project expected to wrap up in 2024
SUMMARY: After two years since the construction began, the new East Hardy Street Bridge, connecting Hattiesburg and Petal, is almost complete. Because of structural and supply issues during the summer, the completion date was pushed from 2023 to May 2024. The city plans to build a river walk that will connect the bridge with other projects such as the Chain Park to make traffic and general access easier. The mayor hopes of incorporating sidewalk and connectivity projects into the old bridge area to make it more pedestrian and bike-friendly.

UWA’s Integrated Marketing Communications program hosts its 10th annual IMC3 Competition
SUMMARY: Today, the IMC program hosted its 10th Annual IMC 3 competition, highlighting student creativity across various fields, including photography, videography, graphic design, and writing. Participants had the chance to win scholarships for the IMC program, which offers diverse tracks such as graphic design, interior design, and sports communication. Ansley Wells shared encouraging advice for future students, urging them to keep an open mind regarding their chosen track and praising the supportive, hands-on faculty at the University of Western Alabama (UWA). Attendees left inspired, having honed their skills and understanding the opportunities within the IMC program.
