Earthquake recorded early Thursday morning in north Tennessee

SUMMARY: A 3.8 magnitude earthquake occurred just north of Dyersburg in Tennessee this morning, shaking was felt as far north as Illinois and as far south as the Memphis Metro. Earthquakes of this size are not uncommon in the Midsouth due to the New Madrid seismic fault line. Although the earthquake was on the lower end of the scale and considered minor, no damage or injuries were reported. ABC 24 in Memphis confirmed that there were no reports of damage or injuries. Despite some shaking, the earthquake did not result in any significant impact.
