oklahomawatch.org – Heather Warlick – 2025-01-22 06:00:00

SUMMARY: Angela Moore, 65, hopes to move into The Harmony Marcus Garvin Apartments in northeast Oklahoma City, an affordable senior housing complex. With 900,000 Oklahomans aged 60 and older, the need for such apartments is growing, driven by rising rents and limited options. SUMMARY: Michael and Shannon Taylor filed a lawsuit against Berry-Rock Homes and LIV Mortgage, alleging the companies misled them during their rent-to-own agreement for a house in Yukon, Oklahoma. The Taylors claimed they were encouraged to lie about their business income by a loan officer from LIV Mortgage to secure a mortgage for the property. They also allege that Berry-Rock improperly handled their $30,700 nonrefundable deposit. After moving out, the house was listed for sale. The companies countersued, claiming the Taylors violated their agreement and sought to leverage complaints for financial gain.
