Drugs found at Mississippi city official’s home, police chief says
SUMMARY: Narcotics were discovered at the home of Byhalia Alderwoman Delainer Richmond early Wednesday morning in Byhalia, Mississippi. Responding to an alarm call at around 3 a.m. on Katie Lane, police found the back door open and a shed full of growing narcotics. Richmond, present on the property, declined to comment. Officers observed two tubs, three large brown paper bags, and what appeared to be an AR15 removed from the house. Although medical marijuana is legal in Mississippi, growing plants is illegal. The Byhalia Police Chief noted this was not their first visit to the residence. The case was transferred to the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics. Richmond faces no charges at the moment.
