SUMMARY: A notice to Prichard Water Board customers alerted them that their drinking water failed a quality test, raising concerns about health risks. The water had elevated levels of trihalomethanes, a chemical used in water treatment. While experts say the issue poses no immediate health threat, long-term exposure could increase the risk of cancer. Patty Webb, a cancer survivor, is particularly alarmed and has switched to bottled water. John Young, a court-appointed receiver, assured that funds are allocated to resolve the problem by the second quarter of this year.
