‘I bathe in this water’: Prichard Water customer alarmed by water notice

www.youtube.com – WKRG – 2025-03-11 22:30:54

SUMMARY: A notice to Prichard Water Board customers alerted them that their drinking water failed a quality test, raising concerns about health risks. The water had elevated levels of trihalomethanes, a chemical used in water treatment. While experts say the issue poses no immediate health threat, long-term exposure could increase the risk of cancer. Patty Webb, a cancer survivor, is particularly alarmed and has switched to bottled water. John Young, a court-appointed receiver, assured that funds are allocated to resolve the problem by the second quarter of this year. Webb, however, has lost trust in the water system and plans to leave Prichard.
