Suspect dead, 2 injured following shooting at Livingston plant
SUMMARY: A violent incident in Livingston ended with a gunman dead following a police chase that began with him shooting two people at a local plant. Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the TBI and the Overton County Sheriff’s Office, responded early in the morning. The gunman fled, leading police on a chase over 50 miles before a standoff on I-40 ended with him found dead in his vehicle. The Livingston Police Chief expressed concern for the community, stating that such violence is rare in their close-knit town. The investigation has been handed over to the TBI. The victims are in stable condition.
The gunman fled the shooting scene and officers pursued the suspect’s vehicle to Interstate 40 in Roane County where a standoff situation began. The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported troopers found the suspect dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the vehicle. No troopers fired any weapons.

WATCH: Porch pirate steals package in front of UPS driver in Memphis

Tennesseans prefer automobiles over planes and trains when traveling | Tennessee
