on

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has been indicted by a grand jury, a lawyer for the former president told the Associated Press on Thursday.

Trump, a Republican who held office from 2016-2020, will be charged over hush money payments he allegedly made to adult film star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 presidential election. The details of the criminal charges have yet to be released.

Trump, who is once again seeking office, is the first ex-president to face criminal charges. Two Saturdays ago, he went to social media to predict his future arrest while maintaining his innocence.

This story will be updated as more details become available.
