Dollar General store held up on Christmas Eve in Lowndes County

SUMMARY: Thieves stole cash from a Dollar General store in Lou County, Columbus on Christmas Eve. The armed robbery happened at around 11:00 PM when two men, described as black, one with a handgun and the other with an AR style rifle, approached employees as they were locking up. The employees were forced to open the safe and the gunmen took cash before fleeing the store. No one was hurt in the incident. The Sheriff’s office is asking for help in finding the suspects, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Lou County Sheriff’s office or the Golden Triangle Crim Stoppers.
