SUMMARY: In “Doc Talk,” Dr. Dina Tom from University Health discusses pediatric health concerns. She addresses viewer questions regarding cough medicine for children under four, stating that no over-the-counter options are safe. Alternatives include honey (for children over one), humidifiers, and Vicks vapor rub. Regarding RSV, children can spread the virus for 8-10 days, while infants may spread it for about a month. The newly introduced RSV vaccine offers significant protection, especially for newborns. Dr. Tom also reassures parents that it’s not too late to vaccinate against the flu. Lastly, she highlights the phased-out red dye number three in foods and encourages careful ingredient monitoring.

On this week’s edition of Doc Talk, University Health pediatrician Dr. Dina Tom joined KSAT 12 anchors Steve Spriester and Myra Arthur to answer questions from viewers on the RSV vaccine, Red dye No. 3 and more.

SUMMARY: Federal agents conducted raids in Boston as part of President Trump’s mass deportation plan, targeting violent individuals such as gang members and murder suspects. The Trump administration reports 538 illegal immigrants were arrested in what it claims will be the largest deportation operation in history. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) focused on removing criminals, including MS-13 gang members, as part of a “worst first” approach. While the emphasis is currently on violent offenders, experts suggest that nonviolent criminals may eventually be targeted as well. Predictions indicate some individuals may choose to self-deport to avoid arrest.

Federal agents launched raids in one of the first visible signs of President Donald Trump’s mass deportation plan. The Trump administration says it arrested 538 illegal immigrants Thursday in what it says is the beginning of the largest deportation operation in history.
