www.youtube.com – FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth – 2024-11-06 08:55:25

SUMMARY: Former President Trump is set to be the second U.S. president to serve two non-consecutive terms, following Grover Cleveland. Jeff Engel from SMU’s Center for Presidential History notes that while both have comeback stories, their circumstances differ significantly. Cleveland had a disappointing second term, whereas Trump has had four years to reflect on his presidency. Engel predicts a possible shift in Trump’s rhetoric as he aims to unite the nation. He also highlights the historical significance of women in politics, referencing Kamala Harris’s candidacy and the challenges faced by female candidates in U.S. elections.

Grover Cleveland was the last president to serve two non-consecutive terms. But, are the two stories similar?

SUMMARY: Our investigative team has found that many used clothing donation boxes are not sending items to legitimate charities. A significant issue involves fraudulent paperwork regarding their placement. Investigator Joel Eisenbock highlights a case at a Houston restaurant where a manager claimed her signature on the permit was forged. Similarly, a Burger King manager also reported not authorizing a donation box on their property. It’s advised that anyone encountering these unauthorized donation bins should call 311 for assistance and can contact local news investigators for further support.

Texas National Guard allowed to make immigration arrests

Published

on

www.youtube.com – FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth – 2025-02-03 21:18:11

SUMMARY: The Texas National Guard can now arrest and detain individuals entering the U.S. illegally, following a new agreement between Governor Greg Abbott and the Trump administration. This change marks a departure from the longstanding separation of military and civilian law enforcement. The joint memorandum allows the National Guard to enforce federal immigration laws while remaining under state control. This shift comes amid frustrations with federal border enforcement and follows the 2021 launch of Operation Lone Star. Legal experts note that while this agreement is significant, its long-term implications and legality may face challenges, as the National Guard is typically deployed for shorter periods.

A deal between Texas Governor Greg Abbott and President Donald Trump’s administrations will allow the Texas National Guard to make immigration arrests. FOX 4’s Amelia Jones talked to a constitutional attorney about the change.

SUMMARY: At the Senior Bowl, Chris Gordy highlighted several standout NFL draft prospects, particularly Walter Nolan, a defensive tackle from Texas A&M, praised for his size and performance. While many believe the Texans should focus on offensive linemen, Nolan could be a great fit. Other players of note included Jack B from TCU, who had an emotional performance, and Alabama QB Jalen Milroe, whose week was marred by accuracy issues. Texas A&M’s Shamar Stewart and Texas’ Baron Salle also impressed, while Ole Miss’s Jackson Dart showcased potential, although he remains a day two pick. Gordy noted Ole Miss’s talent but questioned their overall team performance.

Jason Bristol and Luis Ortiz turn to Locked on SEC podcast host Chris Gordy for insight on the prospects Gordy saw at the 2025 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.
