Disaster loans available for Winston County residents following severe flooding

SUMMARY: The U.S. Small Business Administration has approved Mississippi’s request for assistance for homeowners and small businesses affected by severe weather in Winston County. Governor Tate Reeves announced that low-interest loans will be available to support homeowners and businesses in recovering from flood damage caused by flash flooding on July 13. Additionally, those affected by the storms in Attala, Choctaw, Kemper, Leake, Neshoba, Noxubee, and Oktibbeha counties can apply for the loans. The deadline for physical loan applications is Oct. 10, 2023, and for economic injury disaster loans (EIDLs) is May 13, 2024.

Southern Miss, Ole Miss both stay put in D1Baseball Top 25

SUMMARY: No. 22 Southern Miss and No. 23 Ole Miss maintained their spots in the latest D1Baseball rankings. Southern Miss went 4-0, securing a road sweep of Appalachian State, highlighted by Nick Monistere’s walk-off home run. Their ace, JB Middleton, threw a complete game in a 10-2 win. Ole Miss bounced back with a series win over No. 9 Vanderbilt after beating Mississippi State in the Governor’s Cup. They won the first two games of the series, 8-3 and 7-1, before Vanderbilt salvaged the finale with a 13-0 win. Both teams continue their season with midweek games and upcoming conference matchups.

Pepsi Pops returning to Ridgeland on May 9, promising symphonic outdoor fun
