DIGITAL DESK: An update on tropical activity in the Gulf (11/5/24)
SUMMARY: Senior meteorologist Wesley Williams provides a tropical weather update focusing on Tropical Storm Raphael. As of 9:00 a.m., Raphael maintains winds of 60 mph and is moving northwest. While the storm has an impressive satellite presentation and may strengthen to hurricane status, it is forecasted to weaken upon entering the Gulf due to increasing wind shear and dry air. Several areas are under hurricane and tropical storm warnings, including parts of the Cayman Islands and Cuba. Additionally, a low-pressure system is developing near Puerto Rico. Rain and breezy conditions are expected in the area over the coming days.

POLLS OPEN: Hereโs what you need to know about voting today in South Mississippi

Highway 57 road project ahead of schedule, engineer says
