Diamondhead’s Christmas Market shines spotlight on local crafters
SUMMARY: The Christmas Market in Diamond Head showcases local crafters, providing crucial support for small businesses during the holiday season, as reported by Austin Johnson. Owners like Ashley Rashu rely on such events to sell her homemade sourdough, which she started baking to address her son’s skin allergies. Without a traditional storefront, she can avoid regulatory hurdles. Michelle Alfonso also participates, selling barbecue shrimp to fundraise for feeding the needy, emphasizing the event’s importance for all vendors. With nearly 60 vendors and food trucks, the market fosters community spirit, highlighted by sentiments from a young attendee about the significance of Christmas.
Local crafters and makers set up shop in Diamondhead as part of the 2nd annual Christmas Market.
