Demolition begins on Missouri State's new performing arts complex
SUMMARY: Missouri State University is advancing its performing arts initiative with the demolition of the ‘Art Annex’ to make way for the Judith Enyeart Reynolds Performing Arts Complex. Set for completion by summer 2026, this project is made possible through a $17.5 million donation from Tim Reynolds and the C.W. Titus Foundation, matched by the General Assembly. The complex will include new acting and dance studios, a black box theater, and renovations to Craig Hall, continuing the arts overhaul initiated with Ellis Hall and the John Goodman Amphitheater. MSU President Richard Williams noted ongoing campus construction totaling $245 million.

Missouri lawmakers file bills enacting new regulations on intoxicating hemp products • Missouri Independent
SUMMARY: Missouri lawmakers have repeatedly attempted to ban intoxicating hemp products, like Delta-8 THC drinks, but the hemp industry has opposed these efforts, advocating for regulations instead. In response, industry leaders have introduced bills to establish licensing and regulation. However, the hemp community is divided on the details, with differences over THC limits, the three-tier distribution system, and which products should be regulated. Meanwhile, Gov. Mike Parson’s executive order aims to ban such products, and the state’s alcohol and tobacco division is proposing new rules to restrict their sale, potentially affecting thousands of businesses.
