Deadly weekend in Austin: 5 killed in crashes

SUMMARY: Over a deadly weekend in Austin, five people were killed in four separate crashes within 48 hours. The fatalities included two pedestrians struck by vehicles: one on East Riverside near Tenton and Ford Road, and another on East Ben White. Both incidents occurred early Monday morning. Additional deaths involved a two-car rollover on Stasney and Pepper Tree Parkway late Saturday, claiming two lives, and a single-car crash on Jollyville Road on Friday night. Wet weather may have contributed to these accidents, prompting concerns about roadway safety. All incidents are currently under investigation, with further details expected soon.
