Mississippians encouraged to use free life insurance policy locator tool to find lost benefits
SUMMARY: Mississippi’s insurance commissioner, Mike Chaney, is urging residents to utilize an online tool for locating lost life insurance policies. In 2023 alone, over 1,600 Mississippians used the National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ tool, recovering more than $46 million in benefits. The service is free and confidential, having assisted more than 4,400 consumers since its launch in November 2016, totaling over $99 million in claims.
