SUMMARY: Severe storms in Perry County, Missouri, on Friday night caused widespread destruction, including significant damage to Perryville schools. The tornado’s path spanned approximately 10 miles, damaging buildings, including Perryville District 32 schools, homes, and infrastructure. The community quickly rallied to help, with residents assisting each other despite the devastation. A local man lost his roof and belongings but was thankful for his survival. Neighbors helped Courtney Rayburn’s family clear debris from their damaged property. The Perry Park Center is offering assistance, and contractors are being asked to register to avoid scams. Recovery efforts are underway.

Perryville’s elementary, middle and high schools all received some sort of damage in addition to a number of homes on the south side of town.
