SUMMARY: Texas state Rep. Giovanni Capriglione has introduced House Bill 1554, which seeks to prohibit taxpayer funding for legal services aiding illegal foreign nationals, particularly in deportation cases. The bill targets public entities, including colleges and local governments, from granting money for legal representation related to immigration proceedings.
