SUMMARY: Joe Voski, a 78-year-old experienced pilot from Dallas, was killed in a plane crash in Scottsdale, Arizona, while flying a jet owned by musician Vince Neil. Voski’s aircraft veered off the runway on Monday, likely due to landing gear failure. Although Neil was not onboard, Voski’s actions may have saved lives as debris from the crash hurt three passengers and one person in a parked aircraft. Voski had a distinguished aviation career, serving in the Marines and working for American Airlines and Southwest Airlines. His daughter, Jana Scherzer, emphasizes her father’s legacy and his connection to North Texas as they arrange his funeral.

On February 7, her dashboard began malfunctioning, prompting her to pull over at the Marand Plaza shopping center. Moments later, the vehicle exploded. Unaware of a recall for engine and coolant issues in her model, she learned from her granddaughter about multiple similar incidents. She hopes her experience will encourage others to research vehicles thoroughly before purchasing and to check for recalls, warning that she could have lost her life.
