Dallas man who threatened to 'light up' Midlothian workplace sentenced to 40 years

SUMMARY: Jameson Whitaker, a 44-year-old convicted murderer, has been to 40 years in prison for making terroristic threats against his coworkers at Liberty Tire Recycling in Midlothian. He threatened to open fire with an AR- rifle, which he showed to colleagues, stating he would issue a 30-second warning before shooting. Whitaker, a convicted felon, had previously been imprisoned for five years for aggravated assault and ten years for murder. His violent threats, which included showing a weapon equipped with armor-piercing rounds, raised significant alarm, leading to his arrest after a coworker reported him to management.

An Ellis County man was sentenced to 40 years in prison earlier this after he threatened to โ€œlight up” his workplace.
