DA Willis fights to reinstate charges for Trump | FOX 5 News

SUMMARY: County DA Fani Willis is seeking to have six charges against former and five others reinstated. Judge Scott McAfee had previously ruled that the solicitation charges in the 2020 election interference case were too vague, hindering the defendants’ ability to defend themselves. Willis argues that the charges clarify the defendants’ actions and would enable an intelligent defense. Prosecutors contend that Trump and others unlawfully pressured Georgia to hold a special legislative for appointing pro-Trump electors. There is currently no timeline for the appeals court’s ruling on this matter.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has filed an appeal in a judges to toss several charges against former President Donald Trump and his co-defendants in the Georgia election interference case.

HBCUs receive $18 million grant from health giant

SUMMARY: Paris-based pharmaceutical and company Sopi has announced an $18 million grant over 10 years to three historically black medical schools: Morehouse School of Medicine, College of Medicine, and Mahy Medical College. The grant aims to enhance clinical research staffing, improve โ€”such as online chat services and pharmacy upgradesโ€”and develop customized programs to advance the educational and operational capabilities of these institutions over the coming decade.

Nearly $10M spent in U.S. House District 14 | Georgia

In a quarter of Georgia counties, trained prison inmates are firefighters on the job
