Wesley's 6AM Tuesday Tropics Update
SUMMARY: Seven years ago, Hurricane Nate surprised Cruin, making landfall in 2017. Its eye directly passed over the Mississippi Coast, a rare occurrence, last seen with Hurricane George in the 1990s. Although Nate was a Category 1, it caused significant flooding, submerging Highway 90 and affecting local casinos. Presently, Hurricane Milton poses a major threat to Florida, having strengthened to the strongest storm in the Gulf since Rita in 2005. Expected to make landfall as a Category 3, it will bring severe storm surges and wind, affecting areas even inland like Orlando, reminding everyone to take hurricanes seriously, regardless of category.
Milton has its sights set on Florida. A major hurricane landfall is expected by late tomorrow or early Thursday.

10/7 – Trey Tonnessen's “Cruisin' Cast” Monday Night Forecast
SUMMARY: This week‘s weather on the Mississippi Gulf Coast is expected to be sunny and pleasant, with comfortable temperatures and decreasing humidity. A cold front aids these conditions, keeping showers and thunderstorms away. Temperatures will gradually cool to the mid to upper 60s at night. Notably, Hurricane Milton is a Category 5 storm moving northeast, but the front is steering it away from the coast, resulting in a calm week with little to no rainfall. While the local weather remains favorable, thoughts are with those affected by the hurricane in Florida.

Milton most intense Gulf hurricane in nearly 20 years
SUMMARY: Hurricane Milton is approaching record intensity, with winds of 180 mph and a pressure around 95 millibars, making it the fifth strongest hurricane recorded in the Gulf of Mexico. The hurricane’s eye is contracting, indicating potential intensification. Hurricane Hunters are monitoring the storm as it gains strength in an area with little wind shear. Although weakening is expected as Milton heads toward Florida, the state should prepare for significant wind and storm surge impacts. As the storm moves northeast, it will face increased wind shear, likely leading to a decrease in intensity. South Mississippi remains unaffected positively.
