Croatian-Americans of Gulf Coast welcome President of Croatia at Slavonian Lodge

SUMMARY: The Department of Events joined with family members or gold star families to commemorate the occasion. Police families were also present, with police lights guiding the way for the President of Croatia on his historic visit to the Gulf Coast. Biloxi Mayor FoFo Gilich proclaimed September 20 to 2023 as Croatian Heritage Day and presented a proclamation to the President of Croatia, Zoran Milanovic. Many Croatian Americans across the coast, including Carol Cava Ceviche and her sister, were proud to witness this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and celebrate their strong ties to Croatia. The Croatian people played a major role in the seafood industry on the coast, and their descendants are honored to pass on their heritage to future generations. The visit of the President of Croatia was a special occasion for both the Croatian community and the local residents, who were elated to see the leader of their ancestors’ homeland in the United States.

Friday was an exciting day as the City of Biloxi welcomed the President of Croatia, Zoran Milanovic.

Expert Talk – Senior Medicare Patrol (Telehealth Fraud)

SUMMARY: In this episode of WXXV’s Expert Talk, host Michelle Eubank welcomes Danielle Gillery from Senior Medicare Patrol to discuss telehealth, which gained prominence during the COVID pandemic. Telehealth allows patients to consult with doctors via video calls rather than in person. However, telehealth fraud occurs when individuals are billed for services from providers they’ve never interacted with, such as cases where nurses, rather than doctors, diagnose readings. Gillery advises viewers who suspect fraud to contact Medicare or the Senior Medicare Patrol for assistance. The organization provides resources to help resolve billing issues and combat scams.
