Crisp mornings, warm afternoons, some fog potential too
SUMMARY: The weather has been beautiful lately, with crisp mornings and warm afternoons. While the tropical season is concluding, the forecast shows limited storm activity, with only a weak system observed. Temperatures in the Gulf are cooling, impacting potential storm development. For the upcoming days, expect temperatures in the 40s to 60s in the mornings and highs reaching the 80s. There’s a possibility of morning fog on Wednesday due to increased humidity. Overall, pleasant weather is predicted, perfect for events like Taylor Swift’s concert this weekend, with no significant rain expected until next week.
Meteorologist Devon Lucie starts off with a quick look at the latest on Oscar, its latest stats and track, then takes us home to our high resolution forecast showing you how chilly Tuesday morning will be, how warm it will be in the afternoon, how much warmer we’ll get from there, and what the fog situation will be for Wednesday morning and the rest of the days through the weekend, while ending with the seven day forecast showing when the warmest days will be, how warm, and when fog might cost us a few extra minutes on the morning drive.

Causeway reopens to drivers in Louisiana
SUMMARY: The southbound side of the causeway has fully reopened, while the northbound side operates with one lane. I-10 remains closed, particularly between the plaza and Slidell. Alternate routes include Highway 51 and Highway 11. The Danziger Bridge, Senator Ted Hickey Bridge, and Clayboard Avenue Bridge are open. Slow traffic continues on the Crescent City Connection, which is largely closed. Reports indicate ongoing repairs on several bridges and highways. Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time due to the widespread closures and slower traffic conditions across the metro area.
The southbound lane is fully open and one lane northbound is opened with a speed limit of 45mph.

DOTD, partners work to reopen roads with help from snowplows
SUMMARY: In Bridge City, Louisiana, snowplows and DOTD crews are working to clear icy roads, including reopening one lane on the Huey P. Long Bridge and Crescent City Connection. Drivers are facing challenges due to the icy conditions, with some reporting difficulty staying on the road. Louisiana State Police urge patience, warning against speeding or passing other vehicles, which could lead to dangerous situations. DOTD aims to reopen more roads by the weekend, but the cold temperatures could delay full restoration. Drivers are advised to be cautious and stay informed through DOTD updates.
