SUMMARY: Former Jackson police officer, Anthony Fox, has been acquitted of culpable negligence manslaughter and is now a free man after 551 days of incarceration. The Clinton Police Department welcomed him home, and he has returned to work as a K-9 narcotics detective. The court of appeals reversed the Hinds County circuit court verdict, and Fox’s attorney argued there was insufficient evidence to convict him in the 2019 death of George Robinson. Mayor Phil Fisher says they never gave up, and brings attention to the importance of electing responsible officials to prevent injustices.
