CPD goes to Florida to get man accused of passing fake checks
SUMMARY: Columbus, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus police traveled to Florida to arrest Robert McClure, 49, from Walnut Grove, for attempting to cash fake checks. He was unsuccessful in cashing a $4,600 check at the Bank of Vernon on Bluecutt Road on February 9 but succeeded in cashing a similar check at the bank’s east Columbus location. McClure was apprehended in Milton, Florida, and has since been brought back to the Lowndes County jail in Columbus. For continuous updates, follow WCBI on Facebook and X (formerly Twitter).
