Covington County class setting up book drive for hospitals

SUMMARY: Mississippi school districts and the Mississippi Department of Education in Covington County are reaching out to help children who are battling cancer and other serious illnesses. Early childhood education students at the Career and Technical Education Center in Collins are collecting new and gently used children’s books to donate to clinics affiliated with St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis and the University Medical Center in Jackson. The students are also celebrating “Read Across America Day” and encouraging others to participate in the book drive by dropping off children’s books at the Career and Technical Center in Collins before the drive ends.
