COVID-19 Vaccine drive at Lynn Meadows Discovery Center Friday

Lynn Meadows Discovery Center has partnered with Singing River Health System and Ochsner to host a community vaccine drive.
The drive takes place Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Pfizer vaccines will be available for those 12 and up and J&J vaccines will be available for those eighteen and up.

Mississippi’s Izzy Karns crowned Miss Teen Volunteer America 2026
SUMMARY: Izzy Karns, representing Mississippi, was crowned Miss Teen Volunteer America 2026 on March 8 in Jackson, Tennessee, making her Mississippi’s first-ever teen national titleholder. Karns, an 18-year-old University of Southern Mississippi freshman, impressed judges with her fitness, wellness, and vocal talent. As Miss Teen Volunteer America, she will serve as a spokesperson for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and The Salvation Army, earning a $10,000 scholarship. Karns is also a leader and advocate, founding Choose Rescue and raising over $21,000 for animal shelters. She has contributed over 1,000 hours of community service and supported several charitable organizations.
