Suspect dead, 2 injured following shooting at Livingston plant

SUMMARY: A violent incident in Livingston ended with a gunman dead following a police chase that began with him shooting two people at a local plant. Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the TBI and the Overton County Sheriff’s Office, responded early in the morning. Tennesseans prefer automobiles over planes and trains when traveling | Tennessee

To ease travel, the Tennessee Department of Transportation will suspend all construction from 11:59 p.m. Monday through 11:59 p.m. Jan. 1, though some safety-related road closures will remain. Gas prices have slightly increased to $2.72 per gallon, compared to $2.65 last week, but are lower than last year’s price of $2.76. Memphis International Airport anticipates 105,000 travelers between Dec. 19 and Jan. 2, with the busiest day being Friday, when 8,200 passengers will pass through TSA checkpoints.
