SUMMARY: In 2017, Willie Cory Godbolt went on a killing spree in Lincoln County, Mississippi, resulting in the deaths of his wife’s relatives and a sheriff’s deputy. Godbolt was sentenced to death in Pike County after being convicted on four counts of murder and four counts of capital murder. The Mississippi Supreme Court, after an appeal from Lincoln County Circuit Court, has scheduled oral arguments for his case against the state for Tuesday. Each side will have 30 minutes for argument, starting at 1:30 pm. Godbolt is currently imprisoned at the Mississippi State Penitentiary.
