Cooling stations set up in Moss Point
SUMMARY: Following an EF2 tornado in Moss Point, Mississippi, cooling stations are being established for volunteers and residents as part of the cleanup process. Severe summer heat, with temperatures predicted to reach up to 110 degrees Fahrenheit, is making recovery efforts more difficult. The stations will provide a place for people to refresh, charge their phones, and take a break from the adverse weather conditions. The first station will open at Secondary Missionary Baptist Church, and others, including one at First Baptist Church on Main Street, are planned.

Ocean Springs neighborhood reunites with pet cat after three years
SUMMARY: After three years apart, Bella the 17-year-old cat has reunited with the Ferrell and Speese families on Meadowview Circle. Their hopes were revived when a good Samaritan brought Bella to a veterinarian, who scanned her microchip. This reunion highlights the importance of pet identification, especially after events like Hurricane Katrina when microchipping became vital. Dr. Chris Duke emphasizes updating contact information for microchips. Bella is now settling back into her home, and her families are thrilled to have her return.
