SUMMARY: The Mississippi Court of Appeals upheld the convictions and sentences of Jordan Terry (also known as Terry Jordan) and Jerome Thomas for the 2019 shooting death of Earnest Myers in Jackson. Both were convicted of first-degree murder and drive-by shooting. Their appeals argued errors related to evidence admission; Terry challenged a surveillance video, and Thomas contested hearsay text messages. The Court found the trial court’s admission of a Kroger surveillance video improper but considered the error harmless. Both brothers were sentenced to life plus 15 years for the drive-by shooting, running concurrently with their life sentences. The homicide occurred after Myers’ vehicle was shot at and crashed.
