Conviction upheld for man sentenced in Ridgeland home invasion
SUMMARY: The Mississippi Court of Appeals upheld the conviction of Jordan Collins for a Ridgeland home invasion involving multiple charges such as kidnapping, armed robbery, and aggravated assault. Collins, from Jackson, was sentenced in September 2022 to 40 years in prison by the Madison County Circuit Court. On appeal, Collins argued against the trial court's decisions regarding evidence from Hinds County crimes and jury instructions. However, the appellate court found no abuse of discretion by the trial court. John K. Bramlett, District Attorney, stated that Collins was the final suspect sentenced in the plot against an elderly couple and their son.
