11/25 Ryan's “Much Warmer” Monday Morning Forecast
SUMMARY: The weather outlook is currently quiet, as the tropical conditions in the Gulf remain calm with no major developments expected. Despite some weak signals, nothing threatening is anticipated for South Mississippi. While there’s mild mistiness in certain areas, temperatures are warming up, with highs expected in the 70s. A front is approaching from Arkansas, which might lead to spotty showers overnight, but significant moisture is lacking. Following the front’s passage, clearer and cooler air will arrive, particularly after Thanksgiving, when another stronger front will bring cooler, drier conditions. Overall, peaceful weather continues for the time being.

The state of shrimp season on the coast
SUMMARY: In part two of Dave Elliot’s interview with Ryan Bradley, they discuss the challenges facing the 2024 shrimping season in South Mississippi. Shrimpers are experiencing a consistent harvest, but the number of licensed shrimpers and boats has significantly declined, with only about 45 boats participating. Factors contributing to this decline include the rising costs of operation, inflation, and competition from imported shrimp, particularly from Ecuador. Despite these challenges, local shrimpers are still catching high-quality shrimp, and Bradley encourages residents to support them by buying fresh shrimp directly from the boats.

Inside the church, volunteers pack home-cooked meals, including traditional favorites like turkey and ham.
