SUMMARY: The of Hattiesburg hosted its first Community Safety at Dewitt Sullivan Park with a theme of fire prevention and safe cooking practices. The was planned by Christian Services. learned about local resources, participated in emergency simulations, and received tips on safe usage of heaters from HFD Assistant Chief Chris Carr. He advised against placing heaters near curtains or bedding and using them if they get hot or frayed, suggesting such heaters be discarded. He reminded residents of the statewide burn ban, despite dropping temperatures. More volunteer sessions are planned in future.

Special Olympics Mississippi's Fall Games open at Camp Shelby
