Commission to review Entergy’s response to June storms
SUMMARY: Public Service Commissioner Brent Bailey has announced a review of Entergy Mississippi's restoration efforts following widespread outages caused by severe storms in June. The utility company experienced a significant number of outages, leaving tens of thousands without power for multiple days or even more than a week. The review aims to address concerns and identify areas for improvement in the company's response efforts. Entergy Mississippi has six weeks to respond and provide an assessment of the timeline of events, protocols and procedures of power restoration, communication with customers, and overall preparedness and planning. Feedback from affected customers will also be solicited.

By Friday, a cold front will bring showers and storms to NE Mississippi, with heavy rain but limited severe threats. Highs will be in the lower 90s, and lows in the middle 70s. The weekend will be slightly cooler, with highs in the low to middle 90s, and reduced rain chances thanks to a nearby high-pressure system. Rain is expected to return next week.
