Columbus man arrested for setting home on fire with people inside
SUMMARY: Around 2:17 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, Lowndes County E 9-1-1 was alerted to a disturbance at 2236 Hwy 373. A Columbus man, William Mendoza, was arrested for attempted murder after setting a house on fire while two people were inside. The suspect, described as a thin Hispanic male called “Paco,” had threatened to burn the house down and kill its occupants, while also firing a gun into the air. The victims escaped unharmed. Mendoza was later found and arrested, possessing methamphetamine and a handgun. He was charged with two counts of attempted murder, with a bond set at $100,000 per count.

All aboard Delta flight survive after plane flips while landing in Toronto
