Columbus CFO describes state of 2021 audit

However, many issues identified are being resolved. Wanda Holley from Watkins, Ward, and Stafford presented the audit’s findings to the Columbus City Council, noting delays and difficulties in tracking records. The audit revealed 12 issues, three involving State Laws and nine related to Internal Controls. Key concerns included inadequate control over bank transfers and improper handling of Municipal Court Collections. These issues arose partially from former CFO Milton Rawle’s embezzlement but are now being addressed.
