College football recruiting heats up in Mississippi with star commitments

SUMMARY: All three of Mississippi’s major universities have landed big-time commitments in college football recruiting this week. Mississippi State picked up three 4-stars: wide receivers J.J. Harrell and Braylon Burnside, and defensive back P.J. Woodland. Ole Miss received a hard commitment from 4-star Austin Simmons, a former Florida commit, while Hattiesburg saw 4-star Christopher Jones commit to the Golden Eagles over Florida State, Arkansas State, and Jackson State.

Moonlight, Music, and Meteors event returns to LeFleur’s Bluff on April 25

Running from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., the event includes the Lyrid meteor shower and encourages guests to bring blankets or chairs for a night under the stars.
